Genes Day
2012 marks the 4th year for the DSAGSL’s Genes Day celebration. We are eager to raise awareness for Down syndrome in honor of World Down Syndrome Day at your school, company, restaurant, and other places in the greater St. Louis area to by helping you host a Genes Day.
We ask that one day be chosen in March (preferably Wednesday, March 21) as an opportunity for employees and students to make a donation to wear genes (jeans) or other dress down apparel to work or school. Hosting a Genes Day is an easy way to increase morale within your company while promoting unity for a great cause.
By participating in this fundraiser, you are raising money to support valuable educational and family support programs the DSAGSL offers while increasing awareness about Down syndrome. Money raised stays in St. Louis to provide a lifetime of support, education, and advocacy for the many community events that heighten awareness, acceptance, and inclusion for individuals with Down syndrome.
Please note that funds raised in honor of Genes Day/World Down Syndrome Day will not be counted toward a Step Up for Down Syndrome team fundraising total. Genes Day is a completely separate fundraiser from Step Up for Down Syndrome and is hosted by the DSAGSL.
