Survey for siblings, ages 11 - 17
Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at 5:39PM Greetings!
I am currently a student at Loyola University Maryland as well as a Research Diagnositician at Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore, MD. I am currently working on a thesis project looking at the family dynamics of children with special needs.

I am hopeful that this research can bring attention to the special needs of siblings and families affected by Down syndrome as well as autism spectrum disorders. I have a brother diagnosed with several developmental disabilities and he has really defined so much of who I am, I am so thankful that I was so blessed to be his "big sis", but I know as much as I love my brother there were definitely times that I was frustrated and felt that I wasn't as important. I am working on developing a play-support therapy for siblings to work together to be sure they have the best relationship possible but I need your help!
I am recruiting siblings ages 11-17 with a sibling who has been diagnosed with Down syndrome or an autism spectrum disorder, the survey takes about 25-30 minutes and the link is https://www.psychdata.com/s.asp?SID=131209. If you would be able to help or know anyone at all that might be interested in participating I would be so thankful. All children that complete the survey are eligible for a drawing of a $50 gift card.
Thank you again, you all are such wonderful and inspiring people and I am so blessed to be part of this community of support!
